Richard Delonis is a business, construction, real estate, and condominium lawyer. He has represented individuals, small and mid-sized businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and financial institutions in both litigation, real estate, and transactional matters. His experience includes litigation and resolution of complex commercial contract disputes, construction defect and lien claims, shareholder disputes, real estate title claims, and employment matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal trial courts, appellate courts and arbitration, including cases in Florida and Michigan having amounts in controversy exceeding $100 million dollars.

For over twenty years, he has served as legal counsel to condominium and homeowner associations, successfully handling their collection and condominium bylaw matters, and guiding members of their Boards of Directors in properly fulfilling their administrative duties.

As either in-house general counsel or outside counsel, Mr. Delonis has helped numerous companies and clients organize new business ventures, and he has prepared limited liability company operating agreements, corporate shareholder agreements, buy-sell, license agreements, non-compete agreement, and strategic alliance agreements, as well as employee handbooks. He has also negotiated and prepared commercial leases and commercial real estate sales transactions. His representation of clients is informed by his own entrepreneurial experience serving as Vice President and Assistant Director of Operations for a health and fitness industry company.

He has also negotiated and prepared television production agreements and associated licensing and merchandising contracts. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Axis Music Foundation, a charitable organization that provides aspiring musicians the opportunity to showcase their talents at musical venues and community events around the Metro Detroit area. He currently acts as an adviser, business consultant, and management partner to a group of companies in the music industry.

Mr. Delonis is a member of the Business Law, Litigation, and Real Estate Law sections of the State Bar of Michigan. He is a member of the Commercial Litigation and Nonprofit Corporations Committees of the Business Law section. He was also appointed to serve on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee of the State Bar.
