As an experienced Michigan health care attorney, I represent individual, small, and medium-sized health care providers in all facets of their legal needs. My many years of experience handling complex health care regulatory issues allow me to provide efficient, effective, and informed legal representation. I am proud to serve as a trusted partner and counselor to health care professionals across Michigan.
I previously served as Chair of the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, an experience that deepened my understanding of the evolving challenges facing providers in today’s health care environment.
Health Care Law and Compliance
Over the years, I have helped countless health care providers establish and grow their practices. I work closely with physicians, dentists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, home health agencies, and pharmacists on a wide range of matters. These include practice formation, telemedicine and telehealth implementation, contract negotiation, employment issues, compliance counseling, and business operations.
As a health care attorney, I provide guidance on federal and state regulatory compliance matters such as the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and HIPAA. I help clients not only understand these complex laws but also comply with them in their day-to-day operations. When disputes arise, I vigorously advocate for my clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings, including professional licensing disputes and administrative hearings.
Business Law and Commercial Litigation
In addition to my work as a health care lawyer, I represent small, medium, and publicly traded companies in diverse business law and litigation matters. As a business attorney, I have successfully handled cases involving contract disputes, shareholder rights, fiduciary duties, intellectual property, and unfair competition. You can learn more about my litigation experience here.
Whistleblower False Claims Act / Qui Tam Cases
Another cornerstone of my practice is representing whistleblowers who expose Medicare and Medicaid fraud. Through False Claims Act and Qui Tam litigation, I help individuals bring fraudulent health care schemes to light and recover funds stolen from public programs. I have represented clients under the federal False Claims Act, the Michigan Medicaid False Claims Act, and similar statutes—laws that empower private citizens to fight health care fraud and protect taxpayer resources.
A Michigan Health Care Attorney You Can Trust
Whether you are starting a new practice, navigating compliance challenges, defending your professional license, or pursuing a False Claims Act case, I bring the knowledge and dedication you need. As a Michigan health care attorney, my goal is to help health care providers thrive in one of the most regulated and fast-changing industries in the country.
If you are a health care professional seeking experienced, results-driven legal counsel in Michigan, I welcome the opportunity to assist you.
