Finally, his extensive experience as a health care lawyer includes representing whistleblowers in exposing fraudulent health care schemes, under the federal False Claims Act, the Michigan Medicaid False Claims Act and other similar statutes.
Mr. Szura has helped individuals and provider groups set up their business and grow. He provides important legal insight and compliance for their businesses. As a health care lawyer, he has represented physicians, registered nurses, dentists, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, home health agencies, physician groups and pharmacists in a wide range of matters. As the client’s business attorney, these matters include telemedicine and telehealth, practice formation, contract negotiations, ongoing business operations, employment issues, management contracts, non-compete agreements, insurance and network provider disputes, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) concerns, and compliance and license issues.
In addition to his experience as a health care lawyer, Louis has represented numerous small, medium and publicly-traded companies in the courtroom. As a business lawyer, he has litigated some of the most important issues faced by business owners, including contract rights, fiduciary rights, shareholder rights, intellectual property claims, unfair competition and others.
Throughout his career, Louis has successfully represented clients exposing Medicare and Medicaid fraud by others.
